Marsh Creek State Park Fall Foliage Picnic & Hike
Noon, Tuesday October 20th
Meet Fletcher and Sally Swanson on the west side of Marsh Creek State Park at the boat launch. Bring a picnic lunch, water and wear your hiking shoes or boots. We will meet at the boat launch area and enjoy our picnic lunch at one of the tables over looking the beautiful lake and fall foliage. After lunch around 1 PM we will hike an easy 2.5 mile loop around the height of land on the west side with lovely views of the lake and the surrounding country side. Marvel at the craftsmanship of early settlers at the ruins of a beautiful old stone barn located along the trail. The hiking time will be approximately 1.5-2 hours. Directions: From Valley Forge take Route 202 south to Route 30 west approximately 15 miles. Exit from 30 at the PA 282/Wallace Ave exit. Go north on Route 282 about 4 miles. Turn right on North Reeds Rd. go one mile. Turn right on Marsh Creek Lake Dr. to the boat launch parking area. Look for us at the picnic tables near the boat launch.
